Frugal Bike Repairs - Sledge Hammers Work Quite Well

As for my bike which had a wheel badly bent out of shape when I hit the mud hole the other day...

Watch Those Mud Holes While Bike Riding

Riding into a gully filled with mud and not realizing how deep it was, then flipping over the handlebars flat on my back into the muddy stream bed... Yeah, that was me. All I could do was lay there and laugh. 

 

This pic is of me trying to get my trail bike into a usable state after the accident.  I lost my bottom six gears, had very little brakes, the gears kept shifting on their own, and my back wheel was wobbling.  Yet, I managed to finish the bike ride.  Brandywine Creek State Park is a fun place to ride by the way.  It also connects with the little known Woodlawn Trust Wildlife Preserve which also has miles of trails.

Then on the way back, I ended up riding through several huge piles of horse shit while trying to film something...

Mud bath + broken bike + smelling like horse shit = good times!

Newfound Adult Freedom - Sometimes It Can Be Difficult to Adjust

The priceless moments just keep rolling out of my now 18 year old daughter. We planned a bike ride tonight and her boyfriend was going along and she asks me if she could stay at his house afterward. I just look at her and said "Why are you asking?" She replies "THIS IS SOOOO COOOOL!!!!"

Breaking Teenage Curfew - Genius in the Making

So on the last night of being 17, my daughter who usually has a curfew of 11pm, has not come yet. Her strategy... to stay at her boyfriends house past 12 because she will be legally allowed to drive home and she won't miss her curfew because she will then be 18 and can come home when she wants... genius!

Location Magnets for Cars - LSD, What a Trip That Would Be!

I was driving home and saw a car with one of those location magnet decals like LBI for Long Beach Island or SIC for Sea Isle City.  This one read LSD.  Couldn't get close enough to see what the location actually stood for, but I'm sure it was one hell of a trip for them!

When Strangers Give Offensive Greetings, For No Reason

I find it very strange when you are sitting at a stop light in town minding your own business, when a stranger parked in a car to the left is pulling out and as he gets next to your window says "a**hole". I didn't get in the guy's way or do anything offensive and I didn't even know the person. Yeah, well f*ck you too buddy!

Extending a Good Morning to Strangers

You know someone is having a bad day when: I was on my run this morning and I was passing the courthouse, a big burly scary looking dude was walking down the sidewalk... so I figured I'd be nice and said a "Good Morning"... he responded in a deep voice... "Says you". LMAO! I'm figuring he wasn't going to the courthouse for a good reason...
